The part that matters to us
It collects nothing, and you can check that yourself
No analytics. No telemetry. No accounts. No network code of any kind — your email cannot leave your computer through this extension, because there is nothing in it that can send anything anywhere.
We would rather you verified that than believed it. Open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and use it. Nothing appears, because there is nothing to appear.
One honest exception: your three preferences ride along with Chrome’s own settings sync, the same way your bookmarks do. Three on/off switches, no email content.

That is the line to look for when you install anything that touches your mail. Most tools in this category need it. This one doesn’t.
How it works
One keystroke, three ways to reach it
Press Ctrl+Shift+E — ⌘+Shift+E on a Mac — or click the toolbar button, or right-click the page. The message body is highlighted so you can see exactly what it took, with a word count, and it is on your clipboard.
Pastes properly
Formatted text keeps links, bold and lists, so it lands intact in Word, Google Docs, Slack and Notion.
Or strips it all
Plain text for notes apps and editors — and it keeps bullet and number markers, which the browser’s own copy throws away.
Skips the thread below
Take only the newest message, not the quoted history. Or add a Subject / From / Date header above what you copied.
Knows where the message is
These are recognised by their own markup, including threads with several messages open at once. Anywhere else it finds the main block of text on the page, so it also handles newsletters, support tools and “view this in your browser” pages.
